Empowering and Emancipatory Spaces

Marginalized women often occupy spaces of isolation and emptiness. They are subjected to the critical scrutiny of a community that is positioned outside of their otherness.  They sit at the intersection of race, gender, class, ageism, and a host of other “isms” that exclude; however, many of these women have found empowering and emancipatory ways to transgress limiting boundaries.
